GERDA well represented at the 27th Nordic congress in gerontology

Between the 12th and 14th of June, the 27th Nordic congress in gerontology was held at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. Fredrica Nyqvist from Åbo Akademi chaired a well-visited symposia about the interplay between environmental, social, and individual factors in healthy ageing and longevity. As part of the symposium, Sarah Åkerman from Åbo Akademi presented research about the "Blue Zones", while Birgitta Olofsson from Umeå University held a presentation about brain health in very old age. Erika Boman from Högskolan på Åland also attended the congress and presented research about alcohol use among older adults. Additionally, Laura Corneliusson from Umeå University presented research about the connections between gate speed and depressive symptoms. All mentioned presentations were based on GERDA-data.
